VANZAN®

Xanthan Gum
Category:

VANZAN® Xanthan Gum is a general purpose xanthan gum grade suitable for suspension concentrates applications.

The rheology of VANZAN solutions is remarkably stable over a broad temperature range and will not change significantly between ambient temperature and 60°C. Additionally, VANZAN has excellent freeze/thaw stability. VANZAN is recommended for use in both acidic and alkaline systems and will retain nearly constant viscosity between pH 2 and pH 12. Mixtures of xanthan gum with water-swellable clays or certain galactomannans produce synergistic rheological effects. The mixtures will provide greater thickening, stabilizing and suspending properties than those developed by the individual components of the mixture.

VANZAN is sensitive to shear so care should be taken to limit the amount of shear to which it is exposed. For pre-milled actives, VANZAN can be introduced early in the manufacturing process. For un-milled actives, VANZAN should be reserved until the end of the milling process, and then added at lower shear.
